Founded in 1968 by Rabbis Zev Kurtzman and Avrohom Levitansky, originally as the only Camp Gan Israel in the Los Angeles area and then in 1974 established in S. Monica.  Camp Gan Israel has always prided itself in giving children a fun and robust summer program as well as a solid foundation in Jewish values.  Campers come from varied backgrounds of Jewish faith yet find friendship, comeradery and inclusion.  Many children find life-long friendship and learn life-long skills during their time at Camp Gan Israel.
