Your Everything Camp

Simcha Monica

Camp Gan Israel of S. Monica is part of the largest network of Jewish camping in the world, with branches all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, South Africa and Australia - literally spanning the globe. In the state of California alone there are over fifteen Gan Israel camps, from Berkeley to the Mexican border.IMG_1598.JPG

Camp Gan Israel of S. Monica offers a program of sports, drama, Red Cross supervised swimming, as well as arts & crafts that will expand the campers horizons. Camp education is geared to fit the varied campers' backgrounds, including Bar & Bat Mitzvah training. We maintain the motto of Gan Israel: A modern camp with traditional ideals.

At Gan Israel the emphasis is on "doing". Children are divided into groups by age and are guided by carefully chosen and experienced counselors. Every effort is made to encourage creativity and growth amongst campers.

Let your child see that living and exploring Judaism is exciting at Camp Gan Israel!

When on camp grounds or at beautifully maintained S. Monica parks, we engage the campers in an array of activities to pique every child's interest and to keep them excited each and every day. Some of our activiti

Jewish Enrichment

Camp Gan Israel is proud to be a Jewish camp and our goal is to instill Jewish pride in all it's attendees. We start the day with line-up full of Jewish songs, the Mitzvah of Tzedakah, reciting Torah Passages and exercise.

Some time is giving for developing davening (prayer) and learning a Jewish thought for the day, usually intertwined with a weekly theme.

Boys are encouraged to wear yalmukah and tzitzis and girls to be aware of their tznius. Blessings are said before eating, we encourage children to visit the elderly, help others, look out for kids that need an extra boost and other Mitzvos.

Our Tzivos Hashem exta-curricular learning program encourages campers to learn many Jewish concepts and in return earn fantastic prizes.

We also bake Challah each Friday, have a Shabbos party and older children have an optional Sabbaton.
